Kettlebell training is very versatile and can be applicable to everyone and their goals. As you know each week we bring you a workout geared towards efficiency, (spending less time training) fat-loss, conditioning, strength and so-on. This week’s workout is one geared towards strength and utilizes two of the kettlebell strength moves, the single leg deadlift and front squats. Thus we chose to call it the leg ladder, because it emphasizes the lower body. (I don’t want you to not be a stick leg guy!)

This week’s workout is for those that agree with me about not wanting to have stick legs. It is for those that want muscle and strength in their lower bodies. It will also work on burning large amounts of calories due to the large muscle groups of the lower body. So it is a great choice for those who have little time and want to burn big calories and “rev” up their metabolism for 24 to 36 hours afterwards!

As always if you don’t know how to safely do any of the moves substitute it for one that you can do and take the time to learn how to do it. Then you can place the move in the workout and stay safe and away from movement dysfunction due to poor form while exercising. Also there is the option of doing another one of our many workouts and or combining any of them!

Weekly Workout: The Leg Ladder

The two main moves of this workout will be a bit of higher reps than usual. But, I believe that you are tough and can do it! It is done by repeating the following moves and reps:

10 single leg deadlifts with two bells

10 front squats

Followed by an over head carry or farmers walk for 24 step up and back

The guidelines for success:

  • Do all of your sets and reps with quality form. Crap only produces crap!
  • Breathe by matching your breathing with each pattern
  • Rest as much as you need to and no more.
  • Tough it out while working out ( keep in mind the results)
  • Enjoy the fat blasting effect  and raised metabolism.
