It astounds me how many charlatans and phonies are in the fitness world. There are so many products out there that prey on the desire of the masses to be lean and fit looking. In fact just recently there was a settlement for a product that claimed that all you had to do was sprinkle their powder on a food and it would make you lose fat.  It sounds so ridiculous because it is. I am reminded of the Disney Fairy tales that  involve potions and pixy dust that make things happen without effort or sacrifice. Just as those stories cannot happen, a “magic” potion or powder will not make you lose fat!

Fat loss is not magic! There are no secrets to losing fat or a magic pill to make fat loss happen devoid of conscious effort.

Losing fat requires that you:
A. Eat less
B. Eat better
C. Do specific fat loss workouts
D. Sleep well for 6 to 8 hours
E. Fast sometimes

This week’s workout is not a magic formula, but an intense workout session with two kettlebells designed for those that truly desire to burn fat and reach their potential in fitness. Do not expect some “mamby pamby” workout that will make you feel good about yourself, due to how easy it is. But a battle with your will, wherein your excess fat will be the ultimate loser.

This workout once again is simple to do but not easy, it involves doing double snatches (for those who are ready for them other wise do what you safely know to do.) Over head carries, double cleans and rack carries.

The scheme is as follows:
5 double snatches or 30 secs
over head carries for time or distance
Double cleans 5 or timed
Rack carries for time or distance

As with anything worthwhile there are a few simple guidelines to follow to make this workout both safe and effective.

  • Do all of your sets and reps with quality form. Crap only produces crap!
  • Breathe by matching your breathing with each pattern
  • Rest as much as you need to and no more.
  • Tough it out while working out ( keep in mind the results)
  • Enjoy the fat blasting effect  and raised metabolism.
